Neuralgia
Neuralgia is the name given to severe
pain coming from a nerve. There are many types of neuralgia: trigeminal,
post herpetic (after shingles infection), occipital (pain in the back of
the head), Ilioinguinal or Iliohypogastric following hernia repair etc.
Actually, any sensory nerve can become painful as a result of entrapment
or injury.
An injection of a
Mixture of Local
Anaesthetic and Steroids can be very effective and another option is
Pulsed radiofrequency denervation in order to achieve long term relief.
